In this collection I have a series of paintings that span the area from Venice to Cairo following the ancient pilgrim's route. Venice begins this collection because of its importance for pilgrims from the West embarking upon a journey that would take them to Constantinople, Bizantine Empire; Aleppo, and Damascus, Syria; Shouff mountains, Lebanon; Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem,Bethlehem and Nazareth Palestine; Sant Katryne Monastery, Sinai; Cairo, Egypt. While on site in these countries and towns I would draw and paint with watercolors the various scenes of great architecture such as Hagia Sophia, the Great Mosque of Damascus or the Temple Mount.
